FRIENDS

Juan and Frances love to go out with friends. They enjoy attending concerts (Rock & Country), sporting (Football, Baseball, Hokey, Golf, Tennis, Horse and Motor Races) and special events/festivals (Halloween, 4th of July, Art), as well as going to dinner with friends. Juan and Frances sometimes have different favorite teams or drivers than their friends and/or each other, which makes for some excitement. Frances is a Nole's fan, while Juan loves the Canes! Some of their friends/family love the alligator team, while others even cheer for out of state teams like Texas & AM. They really don't understand why. There are many events they try to attend annually with friends like the 98 Rockfest and Gasparilla, but it is often tough to coordinate everyone's schedules, especially Juan's... since he can be anywhere at any given moment.

Juan and Frances have many friends that have been in their lives for over 20 years. For Juan, some of closest friends are his childhood friends, like Lance, Mark, Kenny, and Norman. He also hangs out with a couple of college friends and occasionally some of his previous co-workers. One of Juan's best friends is Jon; Jon lives in Ormond Beach, Florida. Juan and Frances also love to get together with their friends from church. Their church family has supported them throughout the years, including the time Frances suffered a head injury in jetski accident. Besides providing emotional support, their friends have helped them load and unload moving trucks when they moved to and from Florida. Despite moving back to Florida, they still remain close to their friends from Texas. Actually, a few of their Texas friends have visited them and even considered moving to the sunshine state. NOT! If you know anyone from the Lone Star state then you know that once a Texan always a Texan. Nonetheless, Juan and Frances still love their Texas friends even though they are missing out on the Sunshine state. The Endless Summer state.

Juan and Frances recently saw the legend... the one and only...Shania Twain. Incredible concert in Tampa, Florida. She can rock the stage and electrify the audience like no other.

Juan and Frances recently saw the band Skillet with their friends Dave, Michelle, and their lovely daughter at the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida on 8 June 2017. Wow.... they loved the concert! Juan is a fan of the band for many reasons, including the uplifting christian inspired lyrics and hard-beating musical style. In particular, he enjoys Jen Ledger's drumming. He indicates she can beat the drums with the best of them in the business. Also, frontman, John Copper, electrifies the audience by skillfully engaging with the crowd, which creates hair-raising energy within the venue. Although Juan did not video the concert, you can get a taste of Skillet's musical style in terms of performance, sound, and stage presence. The show in Orlando was very similar to the Los Angles show in terms of the set list, order, and concert length. In addition, Juan indicated they were standing about the same distance from the stage as the recording below.

One of Juan and Frances' favorite weekends with their buddy Jon and one of his girlfriends was seeing Motley Crue's Final Tour concert at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. Given the small venue, it made for an intimate show; this would be the last time, they would ever see the hardest rock'n and craziest hair bands of all time. As expected, they ended the show with Home Sweet Home , which is one of Juan's favorite 80s power ballads! Check it out below... they nailed it!

Besides the concert, Juan, Frances, and Jon had a great time sunbathing and enjoying South Beach, but the truth about that weekend was that it almost didn't happen. Besides breaking down in Miami and having to rent a car, Juan accidentally purchased tickets for a different concert day so he had no choice but to scalp 4 extra tickets hours before the show. Needless to say, that weekend in Miami was costly, but well worth it to see the Crue on their last tour. Juan indicated he will miss Tommy Lee's drum solos... they were epic, especially the 360 degree rail system he developed for the Doctor Feel Good tour back in the 90s.
