ADVENTURES

An outdoor enthusiast is a person who enjoys sports and activities in nature and wilderness areas. These individuals are sometimes called backwoodsman and outdoorsman. Interests associated with outdoor enthusiasts include hiking, fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, canoeing, climbing and camping. Generation Xers invented extreme action sports; they live for their hobbies. Following this philosophy, Juan's motto has been and continues to be No Fear, but he does carefully analyze his options before jumping right in. Borrowing from the lyrics of the award winning Country artist Tim McGraw, he attempts to "live life like he was dying." Having an affinity for the outdoors, Juan enjoys many outdoor adventure sports like bowhunting, fishing, and solo-backpacking. Juan has always been addicted to adventure since he was a kid. As a child, he went on many solo-fishing day trips, and as a college student he loved the rush of whitewater rafting on the Penobscot River in Maine. Today, his passion for outdoor action sports continues. Over the years, Juan has been obsessed with numerous outdoor activities like snow skiing, mountain biking, scuba diving, and golf. Besides going on outdoor expeditions, he also enjoys a variety of motorsports, such as trucks, cars, boats, and motorcycles. Obviously, adventure and travel go together. So it goes with out saying, that one of Juan's favorite things to do is to travel with his beautiful wife Frances. Together they have explored the United States, and especially love Hawaii, California, and Puerto Rico. Recently, they took their first trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto, Canada.

In the early 2000s, Juan got his thrill and rush racing jet skis under Team Shark. Sponsored by various equipment and clothing manufactures, he was a regular competitor in the Hot Water Tour  throughout Florida, and raced at Nationals every year in Nashville, Tennessee. Racing as a privateer, his best showing was 5th place at Nationals in the 800 Limited Class. To keep his body in shape, he works-out at LA Fitness Monday-Friday in Wesley Chapel; Juan has been a life-time member since the 1990s. Inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, Juan began working out when he was a teenager and continues today.

Given his profession, hobbies, and expertise, Juan has tested, reviewed, and promoted various outdoor products and brands over the years. He is currently a Pro-tester for Alps MountaineeringKelty and Outdoor Prolink, which represents and supports many outdoor brands like Osprey Packs, MSR, and Thermarest.
